Ambassador Chicago

Ambassador Chicago is a boutique luxury hotel located in the Gold Coast’s buzzing downtown neighbourhood. The hotel has a glamorous heritage of being known as the hot spot from Chicago’s 1920s jazz scene with regular celebrity guests like Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe, and David Bowie now featured on their black and white wall of fame. With recent renovations, the hotel was in need of image repositioning in order to secure a new partnership with Hyatt Hotels. I was brought on to elevate their social media branding and increase their social media growth by reviving an online community.

To appeal to Hyatt’s market of young professionals and travelers, all branding assets, iconography, font styles, and image curation for social media posting were developed to be more modern and lifestyle-driven while still attaining the elegant sparkle the four-pearl property the hotel is celebrated for.

After rebranding, I implemented a new content and social media strategy that focussed on community, local events, and strategic collaborations with partners like the Chicago Film Festival, Chicago Architecture Week, Veuve Clicquot, and Don Julio. Overall, I was able to increase the hotel’s cross-platform social media following by 40% and ramp up their Instagram engagement by 300% through organic and paid advertising strategies.
